On September 12, 2009, while most of you are still in bed, hundreds of cyclists from across the country will be heading across the starting line at the sixth Audi Best Buddies Challenge: Hearst Castle– a Pacific Coast Highway cycling adventure from Carmel to the renowned Hearst Castle in San Simeon.
Participants finish right along the water at the William Randolph Hearst Beach across from the Hearst Castle. Unlike the usual organized rides walks or runs, participants in the Audi Best Buddies Challenge will be treated to a five-star experience when they finish before heading over to the 83,000 acre Hearst Ranch for a gourmet barbecue and private concert. The Audi Best Buddies Challenge: Hearst Castle is one of the West Coast’s premiere cycling events. It brings together athletes, celebrities and individuals like you for the benefit of Best Buddies International. Best Buddies’ mission is to enhance the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships and integrated employment.
